NewFuture Therapy is a Wakefield-based counselling practice founded by Esther and Laura, identical twin sisters and qualified therapists registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
We believe growth begins with understanding. Whether you are feeling stuck, anxious, low or simply ready for something to change, we offer a warm and confidential space to explore what is happening and to move towards a healthier future — at your own pace and without judgement.
We welcome adults of all ages, from early adulthood through to later life and people of every background, identity and relationship structure. Our practice is actively LGBTQIA+ affirming. Whoever you are, you are welcome here.
Getting Started
How It Works
A free 15-minute consultation
We begin with a relaxed, no-pressure conversation so you can ask questions and get a feel for who we are and how we work. During this consultation we will start to explore what is bringing you to counselling and what you hope to get from it.
Your first session
A gentle first meeting, in Wakefield or online, where we get to know you and what you are hoping for. You set the pace. One of the most important aspects of counselling is the relationship between you and your counsellor, so we encourage you to trust your instincts and notice how it feels: did you feel heard, accepted and understood, and does this feel like the right fit for you?
Ongoing support
We work together at a pace that feels right for you, creating a safe space to explore your experiences, develop greater understanding and work towards the changes that matter most to you. We check in regularly to make sure counselling continues to meet your needs, and there is no expectation to commit to a set number of sessions.
Moving forward
As counselling progresses, we will regularly review how things are going and whether you feel you are getting what you need. When the time feels right, we will think together about ending counselling — reflecting on your journey, the changes you have made and how you can continue to support yourself moving forward.
